In 2018, the Government of Canada voted unanimously to mark June as Filipino Heritage Month to recognize the contributions of Canadians of Filipino descent to the Canadian society. As you know, it is also the month that Philippines officially celebrates its independence from Spain and its establishment as a sovereign nation (June 12, 1898).

June 12th -Flag Raising Ceremony at City Hall
June 12th – PDTO will be performing the binasuan at the Filipino Heritage Month on the Hill
June 14th – the Embassy of the Philippines (Ottawa) is hosting a diplomatic reception in celebration of the 125th Anniversary of Philippine Independence Day
June 16th – PDTO will be performing the Angklung, Pandanggo and Tinikling at the PICOV Annual Gala. Have you reserved your tickets yet? Come dressed up in your traditional or formal attire!
June 25th – PDTO will be performing the Angklung and Tinikling at the PICOV Thanksgiving Mass at the Assumption Church Basement Hall
